Answer:

let breath is x

a²+b²=c² (diagonal formula)

8²+x²=10²

64+x²=100

x²=36

x=√36 (square root on both sides)

x=6

perimeter=2(l+b)

=2(10+8)

=2(18)

=36

☞︎︎︎ Given :

➪ Length of rectangle = 8cm

➪ Length of diagonal = 10cm

➪ We see , if we cut the triangle from its diagonal then 2 equal right angled triangles will be formed

☞︎︎︎ To Find :

➪ Breadth of rectangle

➪ Perimeter of rectangle

__________________________________

☞︎︎︎ Solution :

➪ As the new equal triangles are right angled

∴ Use , Pythagoras Theorem -

✰ H² = B² + P²

★ Here,

  • H = 10cm

  • P = 8cm

  • B = To find

➪ 10² = 8² + B²

➪ 100 = 64 + B²

  • On transposing the terms -

➪ 100 - 64 = B²

➪ 36 = B²

  • 6² = 36

➪ 6² = B²

∴ Base = 6cm

❥︎ Base = Breadth of rectangle

∴ Breadth = Base = 6cm

  • Formula -

Perimeter = 2( length + breadth)

➪ Perimeter = 2( 8cm + 6cm )

➪ Perimeter = 2 × 14 cm

Perimeter = 28cm
