Given :

 \sf \:  \dfrac{ - 1}{3} \:    \: , \:  \dfrac{ - 4}{9}  \:  \: ,  \:  \: \dfrac{ - 4}{3}

To find :

Ascending order

Solution :

First of all we need to know what is ascending order.

Ascending order , is a order in which given set of numbers are arranged in there increasing order { starting from Smallest number }

We are given fraction, so firstly we need to equate there denominator.

  • Denominator are , 3 & 9
  • So we need to find LCM of 3 & 9

3 = 3×1

9 = 3×3

  • LCM of 3 & 9 = 9

  \sf \: \bullet \:  \:   \dfrac{ - 1}{3}  \\  \sf \: multiply \: and \: divide \: by \: 3 \\   \sf \implies \: \dfrac{ - 1}{3} \:  \:  =  \:  \: \dfrac{ - 1 \times 3}{3 \times 3}  \\    \sf \implies  \:\dfrac{ - 1}{3}  \:  =  \: \: \dfrac{ - 3}{9}  \\  \\  \\  \sf \: \bullet \:  \:   \dfrac{ - 4}{3}  \\  \sf \: multiply \: and \: divide \: by \: 3 \\   \sf \implies \: \dfrac{ - 4}{3} \:  \:  =  \:  \: \dfrac{ - 4 \times 3}{3 \times 3}  \\  \\   \sf \implies  \:\dfrac{ - 4}{3}  \:  =  \: \: \dfrac{ - 12}{9}  \\  \\  \\  \sf \bullet \:  \frac{ - 4}{9}

As we know the greater the value of negative number, the smaller it is

So this gives,

 \sf \:  \:  \dfrac{ - 12}{9}   \:  <   \:  \: \dfrac{ - 4}{9 \: } \:   < \:   \dfrac{ - 3}{9}  \\  \\  \sf \implies \:  \dfrac{ - 4}{3}   \:  <   \:  \: \dfrac{ - 4}{9 \: } \:  <  \:  \dfrac{ - 1}{3}

ANSWER :

\sf  \:  Ascending  \:  \: order \:   \:  =  \:  \: \dfrac{ - 4}{3}   \:  <   \:  \: \dfrac{ - 4}{9 \: } \:  <  \:  \dfrac{ - 1}{3}
