Let final temperature is T

Heat gained by 100gm of ice = Heat loss by 100gm of water

In case of Ice

m=100
t= 0+T=T

So Q= mass ×t

.....Q= 100×T

again

In Case of Water

m=100
t=80-T

Q"= m"× t"

Q" = 100 ×(80-T)

We know

Heat gained = Heat loss

100×T = 100(80-T)

2T=80

T=40°C
