as per the question,

LCM = 28x

and

=> LCM - HCF = 621

=> 28x - x = 621

=> 27x = 621

=> x = 23

then HCF = 23 and LCM = 644

we know

LCM x HCF = product of the 2 numbers

$= > 23 \times 644 = 161 \times y \\ \\ = > y = \frac{23 \times 644}{161} \\ \\ = > y = 92$

therefore

sum of the 2 numbers = 92 + 161

= 253
