your answer is-
let, m1 = 100gm = 0.1kg
m2 = 200gm = 0.2kg
u1 = 2m/s
u2 = 1 m/s
v1 = 1.67 m/s
v2 = ?
so, according to conservation of momentum,
=> m1*u1 + m2*u2 = m1*v1 + m2*v2
=> 0.1*2 + 0.2*1 = 0.1*1.67 + 0.2*v2
=> 0.2 + 0.2 = 0.167 + 0.2 v2
=> 0.4 - 0.167 = 0.2 v2
=> 0.233 = 0.2 v2
=> v2 = 0.233/0.2
=> v2 = 1.165 m/s .........ANS!
