Let original salary be x
increased salary = (25/100*x)+x
=x/4+x
=x+4x/4
= 5x/4

Now...
5x/4- ___ = x
x-5x/4
4x-5x/4= - ____
-x/4 = - ____
+____ = +x/5

So in order to make the increased salary the original salary ... subtract it by x/4

% of x/4
:-
x/4÷x×100
= 25%
