any quadrilateral will have only 2 diaognals because it has only 2 pairs of non-adjacent angles

a hexagon has 9 pairs of uncommon non-adjacent angles, so it has 9 diaognals

a triangle has no pair of non-adjacent angles, so it has no diaognals

you can also verify it with the formula to calculate diaognals-

[n(n-3)]/2

n- no. of sides

verification:

quadrilateral: n=4

no. of diaognals=

4(4-3)/2=2

hexagon:n=6

no. of diaognals=

6(6-3)/2=9

triangle:n=3

no.of diaognals=

3(3-3)/2=0
