You can eliminate simply by
Squaring X and Y and adding them,
X²=9cosec²©+16Cot²©+24cosec©cot©
Y²=16cosec²©+9cot²©-24cosec©cot©
X²+Y²=25(cosec²©+cot²©)=25.
