plz solve with steps ...

: the minute hand of a clock is 15 cm long what area does it pass over in 1 hour

Leukonov: In one hour the minute hand covers the whole clock.
Leukonov: so the answer is πr² ; r=radius of the minute hand.
Leukonov: =3.14×15×15=706.5cm²

Method - 1:

Given, radius of the circle = 15 cm.

We know that Minute hand completes 360° in 1-hour.

So, Ф = 360.

Now,

We know that Area of sector = (Ф/360) * πr^2

⇒ (360/360) * 3.14 * (15)^2

⇒ 3.14 * 15 * 15

⇒ 706.5 cm^2.

Therefore, the area swept by the minute hand = 706.5 cm^2.

Hope this helps!

Here your answer goes ..........

  • The minute hand of a clock is 15 cm long  in one hour it means it covers the whole clock in one hour
  • In this question we have to find area
  • We know that area of circle =  \pi r^{2}
  • In a clock r is a radius of minute hand
  • Take \pi = 3.14
  • By putting the values in the formula we get

===> 3.14 × 15 × 15

====> 3.14 × 225

=====> 706.5 cm^{2}

Therefore , the minute hand of a clock of about 15 cm long then 706.5 cm^{2} it pass over in 1 hour
