Question

If sec∅ = m and tan∅ = n then 1/m {(m + n) + 1/(m + n)} is equal to?

Solution

→ m = sec∅ and tan∅ = n

→ 1/sec∅ × [(sec∅ + tan∅) + {1}/{(sec∅ + tan∅)}]

→ 1/sec∅ × [{(sec∅ + tan∅)² + 1}/(sec∅ + tan∅)]

→ 1/sec∅ × (sec²∅ + tan²∅ + 2sec∅ tan∅ + 1)/(sec∅ + tan∅)

→ 1/sec∅ × (sec²∅ + sec²∅ - 1 + 2sec∅ tan∅ + 1)/(sec∅ + tan∅)

→ 1/sec∅ × (2sec²∅ + 2 sec∅ tan∅)/(sec∅ + tan∅)

→ 2 × (sec²∅ + sec∅ tan∅)/(sec²∅ + sec∅ tan∅)

2

Hence Option (A) is required answer.
