Answer:

i) x=69.28m  ii)x=40m   iii)x=60°

Step-by-step explanation:

185)

Let ∅(teta) be the angle.

i) tan ∅=opposite side/adjacent side    (x=30°)

tan 30°= x/120

1/√3=x/120

x=120/√3

x=120√3/√3 .√3          (√3 . √3 = 3)(multiplying numerator and denominator with √3)

x=40 x 1.732                 (√3=1.732)

x=69.28m

---------------------------------------------------------------------

ii) tan ∅=opposite side/adjacent side

  tan 45°=x/40

   1     = x/40

  x=40m.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

iii)cos∅=adjacent/hypotenuse       (here we should find ∅=x)

so, cos x= adjacent/hypotenuse

      cos x=50/100

       cos x=1/2             (here:  from the standard values of trigonometry, we know cos 60°=1/2)

      here, cos x=1/2

                so, x=60°.

Hope it helps:)
