CuO + HCl-----> CuCl2 + H2O

When copper oxide is reacted with hydrochloric acid it releases a greenish yellow gas and forms a bluish green solution. Copper oxide reacts with hydrochloric acid to create copper (ii) chloride and water. The copper chloride will be dissolved in the water.

When we will add dilute hcl to the small amount of copper oxide then copper chloride and water will form.
