\bf{\underline{\underline{Nucleus\ :}}}

※ It is the most important part in a cell. It is the largest organelle of a eukaryotic cell. It is only visible under light microscope. It is written that, it's fine structure has been revealed by electron microscope.

※ As we know, in animal cell, it is located in the center. But, in the plant cell, it is pushed to side due to the presence of large cell vacuole.

※ It contains the hereditary material for regulating cell activities as well as for transfer from one generation to another.

※ It consists of six components :-

  • Karyotheca or Nuclear envelope
  • Karyolymph or Nuclear sap
  • Chromatin material
  • Nucleolus
  • Nuclear matrix

Functions of Nucleus :-

  • All the metabolic activities are controlled by it.
  • It brings the growth of the cell by directing the synthesis of structural proteins.
  • It also plays the role in the formation of ribosomes.
  • It regulates cell cycle.
  • It contains genetic information in the form of genes which are located in the chromosomes and transfers hereditary characters from one generation to another.
