_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ✍️

Given :-

 =  > 2 {x}^{3}  +  {x}^{2}  - 5x - 1

Put x=2

 =  > p(2) = 2 {(2)}^{3}  +  {(2)}^{2} - 5(2) - 1

 =  > p(2) = 2(8) + 4 - 10 - 1

 =  > p(2) = 16 + 4 - 10 - 1

 =  > p(2) = 20  - 11 = 9

 \bold{\red{=  > p(2) = 9}}

Now,put x=-2

 =  > p( - 2) = 2 {( - 2)}^{3}  +  {( - 2)}^{2}  - 5( - 2) - 1

 =  > p( - 2) = 2( - 8) + 4 + 10 - 1

 =  > p ( - 2) =  - 16 + 4 + 10 - 1

 =  > p( - 2) = 14 - 17 =  - 3

\bold{\red{ =  > p( - 2) =  - 3}}

∴p(2)=9 & p(-2)=-3
