The type of reaction happening in the images is displacement reaction. It is a chemical reaction in which one element is replaced by another (more reactive element) in a compound. Here the compound is AB and the other element is C. Element C is more reactive than element A, so it displaces it, forming compound BC and element A.

Example: The reaction between iron and copper sulphate to give iron sulphate as product.

Fe  + Cu2 + —→ Fe2+  + Cu

Fe - iron

Cu- copper

Hope it helps :)
