1. An electromagnet is a magnet consisting of a long coil of insulated copper wire wrapped around a soft iron core that is magnetised only when electric current is passed through the coil.
2. There are some ways you can make an electromagnet stronger are:-

• If we increase the number of turns in the coil, the strength of electromagnet increases.
• If the current in the coil is increased, the strength of electromagnet increases.
• If we reduce the length of the air gap between the poles of an electromagnet, then it's strength increases.

3. Factor affecting the strength of an electromagnet are :

• The number of turns in the coil
• The current flowing in the coil
• The length of the air gap between it's poles
