Let length be = 7x

breadth be = 5x

7x+5x = 48

x = 48/12

x = 4

= 7*4

= 28 cm

Now ,

Ratio of sides of rectangle = 7 : 5

= 7 + 5

= 12 .

So ,

Length of rectangle = 7/12 * 96 cm

= 56 cm

Breadth of rectangle = 5/12 * 96 cm

= 40 cm

Hence ,

Area of rectangle = Length * Breadth

= 56 cm * 40 cm

= 2240 cm square.
