the area of the first square is 144cm.
then by drawing a line from midpoint of the outermost square you get a triangle. by using Pythagoras theorem the side of the adjacent square to the outermost square is 6√3
by find the area for the square u get 72 which is half of the outermost square so by using this
you can get the area of the innermost square
i.e 144/9 = 16

check whether the answer is correct or not
