let initially population of that community be x.
In one year 1/3 migrates.
left over population: x-x/3=2x/3
in 2nd year,left over population:2x/3-2x/9=4x/9
after third year: 4x/9-4x/27=8x/27
4th year:8x/27-8x/81=16x/81
5th year: 16x/81-16x/243=32x/243
after 6th year: 32x/243-32x/729=64x/729
so population left is 64x/729

Let the total population be x. 1st yr, rem. Population =2x/3 2nd yr, rem. Population =4x/9 3rd yr, rem. Population =8x/27 every yr numerator gets multiplied by 2 and denominator by 3 so rem. Population after 6th yr=64x/729
