Since the final velocity is halved.. v= 50/2= 25m/s

Now,

Change in kinetic energy is given by..

Final velocity - initial velocity

or 1/2 × m× v^2 - 1/2 × m× u^2

or 1/2 × 60×25^2 - 1/2 × 60× 50^2

or 1/2×60 (25^2-50^2)

or 30 ( 625 - 2500)

or 30× - 1875

or - 16250 Joule
