Let the ratio be a:1

X = ( 3a + 2 ) / a + 1

Y = ( 7a - 2 ) / a + 1

2x + y - 4 = 0

after putting value of x and y ...it'll be

 [2 ( 3a + 2 ) + 7a - 2 ] / a+1  = 4

=>  6a + 4 + 7a- 2  = 4a + 4

=>  9a = 2

=>  a = 2 / 9

∴ the ratio will be 2:9

pls mark brainliest

hope helps

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the ratio be k:1 and R(x,y) be the point of division.

Using section Formula,

x=(3k+2)/k+1 and y=(7k-2)/k+1

--Put values of x and y in eqn.

2x+y=4

{(6k+4)/k+1} + {(7k-2)/k+1}=4

(6k+4+7k-2)/k+1=4

13k+2=4k+4

9k=2

k=2/9

=>Ratio is 2:9

Pl mark it the brainliest answer if it helps you to get satisfaction.....
