During the Eid break, a survey was conducted by a shopping mall. They found that 15% of the visitors to the mall came by the Metro and 10% of the remaining came by taxis. If the remaining 7650 visitors came by their own transport, find the number of people who visited the shopping mall during the Eid break. 2. On increasing the price of a TV by 21% it became Rs. 84700. What was its original Price.

  2. No.of people visited by metro=15% of X= 15X÷100

3.No.of people visited by taxi=10% of X= 10X÷100

4.Remaining  No. of people visited by own transport=7650

5.   ⇒  X = 15X÷100 + 10X÷100 + 7650

⇒ 100X = 15X + 10X + 765000

⇒ 100X - 25X =765000

⇒ 75X = 765000

⇒ X = 765000 ÷ 75

⇒ X = 10,200

2 Let original price of tv = ₹ Y

Percentage of price increased = 21% of Y = 21Y÷100

Price after increasing 21% = ₹84,700

⇒ ₹84,700 = Y + 21Y÷100

⇒ 8470000 = 100Y + 21Y

⇒ 121Y = 8470000

⇒ Y = 8470000 ÷ 121

⇒ Y = ₹70,000
