- Then equate the given no. to p/q or r ( could be any variable )
- The bring the irrational no. to one side of this equation using the transposition method of solving linear equations.
- Then , we will have RHS be equal to rational.
- But we can't ignore the fact that the no. present at LHS is irrational.
- Hence, our assumption proves to be wrong.
- So, we can end up by concluding that the given no. is a irrational no.
