lime water becomes milky in colour due to passing CO2 through the straw....

abhinavvicky: when co2 is passes in lime water Ca (OH)2 , white precipitate calcium carbonate CaCo3 is formed which is insoluble in nature and hence it turns lime water white or milky in colour
