2039/400

39/400

These are not natural numbers.

step-by-step explanation:

Let the two natural numbers be 'x' and 'y' respectively,

where,

x > y

Now,

A.T.Q.

x - y = 5 ......................(i)

=> x = 5+y .....................(ii)

Now,

we know that reciprocal of greater no. is smaller than the reciprocal of smaller no.

so,

1/x < 1/y

Now,

again,

it is given that,

diffrence of reciprocal is 110

=> 1/y - 1/x = 110

Gaking the L.C.M and solving,

we get,

=> (x - y)/xy = 110

=> 5 = 110xy .......... ( from eqn i )

Now,

putting the value of x from eqn (ii),

we get,

=> 110y(5+y) = 5

=> 22y(5+y) = 1

=> 110y + 22{y}^{2} = 1

=> 22{y}^{2} + 110y - 1 = 0

Solving this quadratic equation,

we get,

y = {-110 ± √(12100+88)}/ 44

=> y = (-110±110.39)/44

But,

according yo question,

y is natural no.

so, it can't be negative,

therefore,

=> y = (110.39-110)/44

=> y = 0.39/44

=> y = 39/400

Hence,

x = 5 + 39/400

=> x = 2039/400
