Answer:

1) Sustainable development is the idea that human societies must live and meet their needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

We can ensure sustainable development through following ways :

  1. Reduce pollution by using eco- friendly technology.
  2. Restrain the use of natural resources to ensure availability for the future generations.
  3. Protection of environment.
  4. Social equality in accessing resources.
  5. Continuous economic growth.

2) Land conservation is the process of protecting natural land and returning developed land to its natural state. Preservation is when lands and their natural resources should not be consumed by humans and should instead be maintained in their pristine form.

Land degradation is caused by multiple forces, including extreme weather conditions particularly drought, and human activities that pollute or degrade the quality of soils and land utility negatively affecting food production, livelihoods, and the production and provision of other ecosystem goods and services.

List out three methods of soil conservation

  • Afforestation: One of the best ways to conserve soil is to increase the area under forests. ...
  • Checking Overgrazing: Grazing is very important. ...
  • One of the scientific methods to check soil erosion. ...
  • Changing Agricultural Practices:

3) Shifting cultivation is a way of farming in some tropical countries in which farmers use an area of land until it cannot be used for growing plants any more, then move on to a new area of land.

Advantages: This method helps to eliminate weeds, insects and other germs effecting the soil. Shifting cultivation allows for farming in areas with dense vegetation, low soil nutrients content, uncontrollable pests.

Disadvantages: In shifting cultivation, trees in the forests are cut. This increase soil infertility and leads to soil erosion.

1. Sustainable development is a concept that appeared for the first time in 1987 with the publication of the Brundtland Report, warning of the negative environmental consequences of economic growth and globalization.

We can ensure sustainable development through following ways :

a. Reduce pollution by using eco- friendly technology.

b. Restrain the use of natural resources to ensure availability for the future generations.

c. Protection of environment.

d. Social equality in accessing resources.

e. Continuous economic growth.

2. the principle by which the total value of a physical quantity or parameter (such as energy, mass, linear or angular momentum) remains constant in a system which is not subject to external influence.

Land resources include all those features and processes of the land, which can, in some way, be used to fulfill certain human needs.

The ways are :

a. Checking over grazing

b. Afforestation

c. Constructing dams

3. A form of agriculture, used especially in tropical Africa, in which an area of ground is cleared of vegetation and cultivated for a few years and then abandoned for a new area until its fertility has been naturally restored.

Advantages of Shifting Cultivation:

1. Clears the vegetation by burning.

2. requirement and ending with crops that has low nutrients

Disadvantages of Shifting Cultivation:

1. It tends to discourage high level

of inputs.

2. It requires a great deal of land to maintain the system.

I don't know Question 4 .. Sorry.

5. They are:

(a) In rural areas – coal, solar energy, bio-gas and firewood can be used as sources of energy.

(b) In coastal areas – wind power, petroleum and tidal power can be used.

(C) In arid areas -- geothermal powers and solar energy are the most suitable sources of energy to be used.

6. Some of the biggest threats to wildlife include illegal wildlife trade, habitat destruction, invasive species, pollution, and clime change. We should conserve forests and wildlife because they are essential for us in following terms:

→ Forest provide us oxygen, they cause rain fall.

→ Forests provide us various medicines.

Steps to be taken to conserve natural vegetation and wildlife are:

1)we should not cut trees as this can effect the food chain of animals

2)we should atleast plant a baby plant every day

3)we should not kill any animal

4)we should decrease the use of plastics

5)we should keep our area pollution free
