In an equilateral triangle all the sides are equal.
(i) As EDC is an equilateral triangle (given)
ED=EA & EC=EB
.: EA=EB

(ii) CDE=180° (equilateral triangle =180°)
.: 3x=180°
=> x=180°/3
= 60°
.: C=D=E=60°
.: D+A+E= 180° ( angle sum property )
=> A=E=15° (opposite angle of the
isosceles triangle is equal)
=>D+15+15=180
=>D+30=180
=> D=180-30
=> D= 50°
Hence, proved that A=15°
