Radius of the circle(R)= 5 cm

Distance of chord=4 cm

Since, line drawn from centre of circle to chord is perpendicular to it...

Hence,

 {4}^{2} +  {x}^{2}  =  {5}^{2}

 {x}^{2}  =  {5}^{2}  -  {4}^{2}

 {x}^{2}  = (5 + 4)(5 - 4)

 {x}^{2}  = (9)(1) =  > 9

x =  \sqrt{9}

x = 3cm

Length of chord= 2x

(Chord is bisected by line)

 = 2(3)cm

 = 6cm

Hence, length of chord is 6 cm.
