let the number manjula thought is N

the next thing she do's is subtract 7/3 from it.

⇒ the number which she gets is (N - 7/3)

the next thing she do's is multiply the result by 6

⇒ the number which she gets is 6 × (N - 7/3) = 6N - 14

given that the result obtained now is 2 less than twice the same number she thought.

⇒ 6N - 14 is less by 2 than 2 × N

⇒ 6N - 14 + 2 = 2N

⇒ 6N - 12 = 2N

⇒ 3N - 6 = N

⇒ 2N = 6

⇒ N = 3

⇒ The Number which manjula thought is 3
