carbon has the vallency 4,due to which it can not give or take electrons. Thus it shares the electrons with other atoms

Carbon have 4 electrons in it outer shell due to which it is not possible to loose or gain electrons i.e why it forms bonds with mono and divalent atoms or we can say it shares its electron with them,this sharing of electron is known as covelent bond.
