Clearly in the figure....

Clearly in the figure....two consecutive resistances are in series and their sum are in parallel...

so,

sum of first two resistance in series=1+1=2

sums of second two resistance inseries=1+1=2

now,these two sums are in parallel

so,

1/R(eq) =1/2 +1/2

Req=1ohm..

so, resistance of the series will be1ohm
