When blue coloured crystals of CaSO4 are heated, they become white due to the removal of water of crystallisation. When few drops of water are sprinkled again, they become blue as they regained their water of crystallisation.

when copper sulphate crystals( CuSO4 5 H2O) are heated then it's water of crystallisation is getting evaporated and hence giving it a white colour. when water is sprinkled it regains it's moist and it's colour


bleaching powder is CaOCl2

Ca(OH)2 + Cl2 ---->CaOCl2

it is used in drinking water because it act like a disinfectant agent and kills all the microorganisms
