According to Boyle's Law:

p1 \times v1 = p2 \times v2

Substituting values:

 1200 \times 1400 = (1400 -  \frac{30 \times 1400}{100})  \times x

Transposing:

 =  > x =  \frac{1200 \times 1400}{980}
