Answer:

2 amp

Explanation:

  1. Calculate the Total resistance

in \: parallel \: r =  \frac{4 \times 5}{ 4 + 5}  \\  \\ r =  \frac{20}{9} ohms

2. Calculate Total Current

v = ir \\  \\   =  > i  =  \frac{v}{r}  \\  \\ i =  \frac{10}{ \frac{20}{9} }  \\  \\ i =  \frac{9}{2}  = 4.5 \: ampere

3. Calculate the current relation

LET the current in 4ohms be x and the other be y

x is the reading of ammeter as it is in series with it

Since 4 and 5 are parallelly connected voltage across each is same

v_1 = v_2 \\  \\  =  > x \times 4 = y \times 5 \\  \\ wkt \\ total \: current \: i = x + y \\  =  > x + y = 4.5 \\  \\  =  > 4x = 5y \\  \\  =  > 4x = 5(4.5 - y) \\  \\ 4x = 22.5 - 5y \\  \\  =  > 9y = 22.5 \\  \\  =  > y = 2.5 \\  \\  =  > x = 4.5 - 2.5 \\  =  > x = 2amp
