Plzz don't answer if you don't know.

Hey mate here's your answer

Acids have pH less than 7 but Bases have pH greater than 7. Acids react with metals to produce compound and hydrogen gas while bases do not react with metals . Acids are able to increase the H+ ions concentration in an aqueous solution whereas Bases are able to increase the OH- ions in an aqueous solution.

Sea water's typical pH, like most natural water, is alkaline or basic. Its range is given as 7.5 to 8.4.

Sugar is a pH-neutral substance, meaning that its pH value is usually more or less than 7, but close. However, raw and unprocessed sugar is slightly basic in nature, while white sugar and brown sugar are both slightly acidic.

Arrhenius Concept

Acid is the substance when dissolved in water, increases the concentration of H+ ions.

The base is the substance when dissolved in water, increase the concentration of OH- ions.

Bronsted-Lowry Concept

Acids are the proton donor

. Bases are the proton acceptor.

Lewis Concept

Such species that accepts the pair of electrons (an electrophile) and will have vacant orbitals are known as Lewis acid

. Such species that donates the pair of the electron (a nucleophile) and will have a lone pair of electrons are known as Lewis base.

Chemical formula

Such compound whose chemical formula begins with H, for example HCl (Hydrochloric acid), H3BO3 (Boric acid), CH2O3 (Carbonic

acid). Although CH3COOH (Acetic acid) is an exception.

Such compounds whose chemical formula ends with OH, for example KOH (Potassium hydroxide), NaOH (Sodium hydroxide).

pH scale (concentration of hydrogen ions in a solution) Less than 7. (in acids )

Greater than 7.(in base)

Physical Characteristics

Sour in taste. (acids)

Bitter in taste.(base)

ph value of seawater is basic

Sugar is a pH-neutral substance, meaning that its pH value is usually more or less than 7, but close. However, raw and unprocessed sugar is slightly basic in nature, while white sugar and brown sugar are both slightly acidic.
