Phosphorus is needed to make ATP and Nucleic acids
Iron is needed to make chlorophyll (although it is not part of the chlorophyll molecule)

Magnesium is needed as part of the chlorophyll molecule
These are all obtained from the soil and absorbed in solution through root hairs.
