banana bond is formed when an atom defivcit of electrons overlaps with a sigma bond to complete its octet...an example is diborane B2H6. In this case boron is the deficit atoms. This bond has the two borons and 4 hydrogens in a plane and the rest 2 hydrogens are on the perpendicular plane. The electron cloud distribution is like a banana , so we call it a banana bond. This also cantains three centered two electron bonds
