a) astronomical telescope

b) the parallel beam of light coming from a heavenly body falls on the objective lens. the objective lens then forms real, inverted and diminished image of the body. this image acts as an object for the eye piece whose position is adjusted so that the image if formed between the focus and the optical centre. the eye piece form virtual, inverted and highly magnified image at infinity. when the final image is obtained at infinity, the telescope is in normal adjustment. it should be noted that the final image is inverted. but it does not matter if it is inverted or not as all the heavenly bodies are usually sperical in shape.

c) different magnification can be obtained by using same objective lens but different eye piece.
