So firstly we know net charge on SO4 here is -2
Now calculating oxidation number of Mn
(Oxidation number of Mn)+(Oxidation number of SO4)=0
Mn+(-2)=0
Mn=+2
Now when u calculate oxidation numbers for all the 4 options
For option a
Mn=+3
For option b
Mn=+4
For option c
Mn=+7
For option d
Mn=+6
Now equivalent weight =Molecular weight/change in oxidation weight
So for molecular weight to be 1/2 of equivalent
Change in oxidation state should be 2
Which is seen for option b Where it changes from +2 to +4
