Hii...frnds...

here is ur answer

=> Electron pair present on given atom tend to remain at maximum distance from to remain at maximum distance from one another due to repulsion and attain most stable configuration. this stable configuration of molecule is known as it's geometry.

The order of repulsion is as following

LP-LP > LP-BP > BP- BP

DB-DB > DB-SB > SB- SB

SB- Single bond

DB - Double bond

LP - Lone pair

BP - Bpnd Pair.

i hope its help u

Answer:

Valence Shell Electron pair repulsion : -

(1) Sidgwick and Powell proposed valence shell electron pair repulsion theory to predict the shapes of covalent molecules

(2) It is based on idea that the electron pairs on the atoms in a molecule repel each other

(3) The atoms in a molecule arrange themselves in such a way that repulsion is minimised.

(1) The arrangement of electrons is called electron pair geometry
