Actual length of wire= 4x
Length of one side = x
Area with length of one side x = x^2
Length of wire when 4cm is cut = 4x-4
Length of one side of square = x-1
Area with length x-1 = (x-1)^2=x^2+1-2x
Difference in areas = 25
x^2-x^2-1+2x= 25
2x-1= 25
2x= 26
x= 13 cm
Therefore actual length of wire = 4x= 52cm
