The Discount of 6% is availed on the fan by the purchaser. So the discount removed from marked price gives is its Selling price.
Discount = 6% of 1250
= (6/100) × 1250
= 75 ₹
Now
SP= 1250₹ - 75₹
•°• Selling Price (SP)= 1175₹/-
¶ x% of y = (x/100)× y= (xy)/100
