17.i)In ∆AEC
(AC)²=(AE)²+(EC)²
On putting values...
b²=h²+(x+a/2)²
b²=h²+x²+a²/4+ax--(1)
In ∆AED,
p²=h²+x²
on putting the value in 1
b²=p²+a²/4+a²
