Solution:

Here , the opposite angle of 80° also = 80°.

°.° Opposite angles

Now , here we form a equation

80° + = 180°. (°.° Straight line )

180° - 80° = x°

= 100°

Now , using angle sum property.

40° + 80° + = 180°

Here , y will be the other angle because y is the angle which is opposite to the other angle of the traingle . Since , they are Opposite angles they are also equal

→ 120° + y ° = 180°

→ y° = 180° - 120°

= 60°

Hence , x = 100° & y = 60°
