Given : graph represents y = -4x +7.

To find : Which statements are true about the graph

Solution:

y = -4x +7

point ( 1 , 3)

=> 3 = -4(1) + 7

=> 3 = - 4+ 7

=> 3 = 3

Hence point  ( 1 , 3) lies on  y = -4x +7

The coordinate pair (1,3) represents a point on the graph and a solution to

the equation - TRUE

(2,0)

=> 0 = -4(2) + 7

=> 0 = -8 + 7

=> 0 = - 1

but 0 ≠ - 1

Hence point  (2,0)  does not lie  on  y = -4x +7 and not a solution

(1,4)

=> 4 = -4(1) + 7

=> 4 = -4 + 7

=> 4 = 3

but 4 ≠ 3

Hence point  (1,4)  does not lie  on  y = -4x +7 and not a solution

point ( 0 , 7)

=> 7 = -4(0) + 7

=> 7 = 0+ 7

=> 7 = 7

Hence point  (0 , 7) lies on  y = -4x +7

he coordinate pair (0,7) represents a point on the graph, but not a

solution to the equation.- TRUE

(2,-2)

=> -2 = -4(2) + 7

=> -2 = -8 + 7

=> -2 =-1

but -2≠ -1

Hence point  (2,-1)  does not lie  on  y = -4x +7 and not a solution
