Answer:

4.a)Given polynomial p(x)=x−5

To get zeroes of the polynomial equate the polynomial to zero

⟹p(x)=0

⟹x−5=0

⟹x=5

So 5 is the zero of polynomial p(x)

b)Zero of a polynomial is the value of the variable for which the polynomial becomes 0.

Now, p(x)=2x+5

For, p(x)=0,

      2x+5=0

or,  x=2−5

c)Given polynomial p(x)=x−5

To get zeroes of the polynomial equate the polynomial to zero

⟹p(x)=0

⟹x−5=0

⟹x=5

So 5 is the zero of polynomial p(x)

d)Here, p(x)=3x−2

In order to find zero of p(x), we equate p(x) to 0.

i.e p(x)=0

⇒3x−2=0⇒3x=2⇒x=32

∴ 32 is the zero of p(x)

e)3x=0

x=0/3

f)Zeroes of the polynomial is the value of the variable for which the polynomial becomes 0.

Here, p(x)=ax

Putting p(x)=0,  we get,

          ax=0

or,      x=0                  (∵ais not equal to 0)

So, C is correct.

g) p(x)=cx+d

cx+d=0 =cx=-d

x=-d/c

-d/c
