1)The water will gather in the hollowed portion of B&C because the sugar and salt is added to it

2) Because the potatoes have starch in them

3)The water will not gather in the hollowed out portion of A&D because in A we have not added anything and in D because we have boiled the potatoes so starch is removed from it
