Answer:

Eqn1

X+y=20

Eqn2

x-y=48

Adding eqn 1 and 2

X+y= 20

x-y=48

By solving this X=14

Substituting x=14 in eqn 1

X+y=20

14+y=20

y=20-14

y=6
