Simple question

Solution:-

As x trends to 0,,let any no. h which is much much closer 0 from.right Side

then

RHL=limit (h trending to 0)=>f(h)=cos(h)

since is much closer to 0,so we can say cos(h)=cos0(approx)

so,

RHL =cosh=1

Now, let's move on left hand limit

as x<0,and x trends to 0,so we can say there is value of x ,let as -h ,which is much much closer to 0 from Left hand side

so,

LHL=|x|+a=|-h|+a=h+a

as h is much smaller we can ignore.it,

so

LHL=a

now,if limit exist then

LHL=RHL

a=1

{hope it helps}
