lastbenchstudent: there is a minor mistake there. you have calculated the value of x correct but calculated number of coins wrong in last.
lastbenchstudent: 2 rs coins are 3 times of 5 rs coins, so your 2 rs coins are 42 and 5 rs coins are 35 and 42 is not 3 times of 35. did u get it what am trying to say
MichaelJackson13: ur correct ace5783....
lastbenchstudent: how is that even possible ? if count of 2rs coins is 42 and 5rs coins are 35 then total sum is 2×42 + 5 × 35 is much greater than 77 as said in question. so no way this is right numbers. there are values they contribute by their coins .

lets assume that 2 rupee coins are x

5 rupee coins are y

so by first condition

2rs coins = 5 time 9f 5rs coins

(1) x = 3y

from 2nd condition

total money accumulated by 2rs coins = 2x

total money accumaulated by 5 rs coins = 5y

so

(2) 2x+ 5y = 77

putting value of x in 2nd equation

2(3y) + 5y = 77

6y + 5y = 77

11y =77

y = 77/11 = 7

so putting value of y in 1st equation

x =3y

x = 3*7= 21

so 2rs coins are 21 and 5rs coins are 7
